This House Is A Mess! What Took Me All Day?

It is known that  how common it is for people to spend their time badly and not even remember how. This directly equates to mess in their homes and a to-do list that is always put off. But this situation gets worse when you are a mother, as  occupations are doubled when there are children in the house.

If you’re one of the high percentage of people who don’t know how their day is going, we want to say we understand you. Few people can boast about how organized they are, but whoever can, knows how to give us good clues  on how to start organizing our time.

Effective time management to avoid mess

Time shouldn’t be lacking or spare for anyone, because we  all move around the same twelve hours a day,  so why is it so common to say that we don’t have time to clean the house?

Properly managing our time builds the first step to follow so that each hour is clearly justified at the end of the day. It’s good to know that we’re not the only ones to spend time badly, but it’s not recommended for those who want greater productivity as a mother.

The main enemy of time management is the number of occupations,  which even though they seem well managed will always end up taking a few milliseconds away from other things we should be doing.

The other enemy is disorder, which, although justified by lack of time, is often a limitation  for the development of things to occur effectively. For example, if we’re going to cook and the cupboard is in disarray, we waste minutes finding the right ingredients within the time frame we set for this activity.

The tidying up should not be left out due to laziness and tiredness, which always come to contribute to the disaster. Sometimes it’s a matter of necessity or personality to want to have things in their holy place; but  if we let ourselves be influenced by laziness or accuse ourselves of being tired, we will always have an excuse for the house to be a mess.

“The only thing that really belongs to us is time, even those who don’t have anything, at least have the same amount of time as anyone else.”

– Baltasar Gracián –

What do I miss my day with?

Each day has 24 hours, most of which go away without knowing what, and many more we invest in sleeping; is it that the day doesn’t end when things are ready?

No,  when we are busy with previously administered tasks, the hours go by faster, but they are more productive. We only say that the day is over when we do nothing towards what we were planning.

The day also goes away responding to the small agendas that other people give us,  sometimes longer and much more complex than our occupations; but for some reason there is always someone who wastes our time.

However, it is  our responsibility to return to the pre-established agenda  to circulate according to the clock.

The fact is not to accuse someone of our lack of organization,  especially when the perpetrators are our children. Having a disorganized house is one of the lowest prices you can pay in exchange for the satisfaction your children give you.

But if you believe this situation is getting over you, we recommend that you follow these tips to alleviate the disaster:

  1. Keep calm and be patient.
  2. Organize your tasks in order of priority  (reflect on what is truly important).
  3. Make sure everything has a fixed fixed and accessible location.
  4. Delegate tasks among family members  (children should help when they make a mess themselves).
  5. Balance the occupations so you have control  and they don’t control you.
  6. Keep an eye out for changes in your mood and physical health  so that fatigue doesn’t take you by surprise.
  7. Dedicate the first hours of the day to the easiest jobs  so you don’t get tired (remember to prioritize your other jobs as well).
  8. Plan an exclusive time for homework, so you won’t become a slave to order.
  9. Designate a place in the house to relax that is unaffected by the general clutter. This can serve as inspiration and motivation.
