Lilo and Stitch, the value of the family

If you want your kids to learn a life lesson while having fun, the story of Lilo and Stitch’s friendship should be among your options.

Cinema is a great way to entertain children. It keeps the little ones distracted, allows children to acquire new knowledge and serves as a communicative bridge between children and adults. Most Disney movies are based on ancient legends. However,  with each passing day, it is more common to find original stories. One of them is Lilo and Stitch.

This feature film caused a sensation when it was released. Filmed in Hawaii,  with background music by Elvis Presley  and captivating characters, it managed to be an Oscar nominee for best animated film in 2002.

It was such a success that  it was not long before it was also released as a children’s series.

The core values that are shown in this film are the importance of family, self-esteem and value. If you want your kids to learn a life lesson while having fun,  the Lilo and Stitch friendship story  should be among your selections.

Lilo and Stitch: When Family Matters

Lilo is a Hawaiian girl who loves Elvis songs.  His parents died in a car  and cell accident only in the presence of his sister Nany, who works several hours a day to support the house.

Lilo, in turn, has a rebellious personality and always ends up in trouble, often harming her older sister.

Despite her friendliness and joy, little Lilo doesn’t have many friends. She feels very  lonely and one day asks God to send her an angel so that she can play with him.  By chance, at that same moment, an extraterrestrial spacecraft lands on Earth, in which Stitch, an alien experiment with the number 636, was traveling.

The friendship in certain cases can be supplied to the family.

Lilo mistakes him for a puppy and adopts him, which  will lead her to live countless adventures. In turn, Stitch’s creator, who calls himself Jumbla and agent Peakley from outer space, arrive on the island with the intention of capturing this being and returning him to space.

For that, they will have to disguise themselves as human beings, more specifically in the form of a graceful couple.

Stitch is very aggressive and breaks everything he touches. Living with Lilo at first will be complicated, but little by little she will make him discover that having a family can be better than destroying the world.

Lilo and Stitch Strengths

If there’s a story that really deserves to be told, this is it. There are no princesses, no dragons, no remote times, not even fairy godmothers who know what to do in the face of adversity. Nany and Lilo  are two normal girls that  real life has hit hard.

Nany is afraid that Lilo will be taken away from her and works long hours a day so she can look good to the social workers. Lilo, in turn, feels very lonely, as the other girls at school laugh at her. Both argue, scream and say bad things to each other,  but then make up.

They know they are a family and that the family, despite everything, always supports each other. Likewise, Stitch ends up changing their behavior so they can understand each other better.

Kindness, gratitude and bravery are qualities that are strongly represented in this film.

Lilo and Stitch is a touching story about the importance of the family.

We all deserve a second chance

This feature film also  leaves us a very valuable message: we can all change. People are the way they are due to the circumstances in which they lived. Character changes over time, with experiences and as we mature. For this reason we must not judge at first sight.

It could be that someone very unpleasant you’ve known for many years isn’t like that anymore. Perhaps such a nice friend from school now has a more bitter temper. In any case,  we must put on other people’s shoes  before giving our opinion about them.

Those who really want their lives to change must start with their own way of being and seeing the world. Our choices depend on ourselves  and our wisdom to choose what is best.

We must not be afraid of respect. There will always be people around us who are willing to give us a second chance and reach out to us.
