Grandparents never die, they are invisible. Feeling the affection of those soft hands, reliving that sweet voice when remembering the jokes told in the heat of a big hug or simply remembering that look filled with infinite tenderness and admiration, they nestle in the memory and playful souls of children.

It is the law of life. Those childhood heroes have the privilege of seeing their grandchildren come to life while the little ones have to bear the brunt of the cruel farewell after contemplating, over the years, those hairs that turned the color of snow or that skin that gradually wrinkled .

grandparents never die

Children usually perceive, with pain and anguish, the way in which those moments spent together and the best stories that deserve to be told run down through their grandparents’ hands, just as sand runs through their fingers. Memory starts to turn to dust. It’s time to say goodbye. The first childhood loss arrives.

However, grandparents never actually die. They become immortal in the souls of every little one when they leave unforgettable marks of love and affection.  They may disappear as a body, but never as a memory. The trunk of each family has established roots of belonging and identity in each child.

Grandparents never die. They live inside grandchildren forever

The bond between grandparents and grandchildren is born from an intimate and deep complicity.  Grandparents feel devotion to their grandchildren. So they offer protection, complicity and – why not? – consent. In addition to everything they do in child care, of course.

Therefore, grandparents certainly never die. Although they are no longer physically present, they are still alive in each person’s life through the eternal loyalty that materializes in a great oral legacy, passed on to new generations.

These intimate and memorable characters knew how to hold the children’s hands with pride and complete confidence as they taught them to walk.  Over time, they may have loosened those little hands a little. But they will never fail to support the hearts of the little ones. Hearts that will protect forever.

Grandparents don’t die, they become invisible. They transform into the fleeting stars of the yellowish photographs. In the fruits of that tree that they planted with their own hands. In that apron that they sewed and that was kept because of its enormous emotional value.

Grandparents live and will be eternal in our attitude towards life, thanks to advice and incentives. They will be present in the smells of those delicious dishes that we keep in our memory and even in the way we tie our shoelaces.

Without being physically present, they are still alive forever

As they are always thinking about something, they get tears in their eyes. From grandparents, children learned that a hug can bring all the broken parts together, as well as teach more than a complete library.  With the grandchildren, the grandparents made up for the time they lost with their children.

Builders of childhoods, keepers of secrets, “professional pamperers”, specialists in dispelling fears and anxieties, defenders of happiness and idleness, architects at the time of laying the foundations for raising a child when he stumbles on the paths of life. An aroma that is impregnated in our senses.

Grandparents never die to their grandchildren. Never. The little ones, until the last day, will take with them their grandparents tattooed in their existence, marked in their purest emotions. Flying the flag of slower pace, thinking before acting, seizing the moment and privileging wisdom, they become compasses.

Grandparents are invisible, but every grandchild knows they are hiding behind every knowing smile or a fun mid-afternoon stroll. Basically, in the affectionate legacy of those whom they remember with a unique and inexplicable love .  Grandparents never die, they remain within each child who bestows upon them the gift of immortality.
